Postmodernism and modern philosophy. Postmodernism is largely a reaction against the intellectual assumptions and values of the modern period in the history of Western philosophy (roughly, the 17th through the 19th century). This view is not isolated to the discipline of history: postmodernism is especially reflected in philosophy, literature, the arts, and other disciplines as well. In this essay, a review of ideas and philosophy of Postmodernism are presented along with a brief introducing of the most effective figures in this movement and it impact on art is under study.
